2004 Study Abroad Fair
MU students were eager to travel the world as they gathered at Stotler Lounge in Memorial Union for the 7 th Annual Study Abroad Fair hosted by the International Center this September sixteenth.2004 Study Abroad Fair

MU currently sponsors over 300 study abroad programs in more than 55 countries. With a host of friendly study abroad program representatives, as well as program returnees and international students currently on exchange programs at MU, helpful advice for interested students was everywhere to be found. More than thirty MU organizations and representatives from other universities participated in the Study Abroad Fair to help answer students’ questions about specific programs. (Read More)

A cornucopia of culture decorated Lowry Mall offering onlookers everything from a glimpse at Malaysian art to a taste of African plantains at the International Bazaar held this September twenty-first.

Diary of a Dream Intership, Sita SengsavanhDiary of a Dream Internship, Sita Sengsavanh
Not everyone gets to intern at the US Consulate General’s Office in Strasbourg, France, but when Sita Sengsavanh sets her mind to achieving something she gets results. Made possible in part by the Office of the Vice Provost for International Programs and Faculty Development, Sita’s dream job as a US “diplomat” demonstrates a perfect example of how hard work, dedication, and perhaps a little bit of luck really does pay off.

Follow Sita’s summer experience through her own words. You may just find yourself in a great big office or perhaps sipping Cremant d’Alsace with the mayor of an exotic foreign city. (Read more)

Colleague CirclesColleague Circles
Transitioning into a new career at any institution can be a daunting challenge, but at MU, this transition for new faculty is a springboard into an exciting future filled with friendly faces and a helpful circle of colleagues.

Boasting a huge success this year, one faculty development program better known as the Colleague Circles garnered more than 45 participants this September twenty-eighth in the Great Room of the Reynolds’s Center. Senior faculty had a chance to meet with new faculty in small informal groups to offer their support, guidance, and words of wisdom. No disciplinary distinctions between the informal groups were drawn at the gathering. Instead, the greater focus was granted to the issue of group support and community building. In the past, it has been noted that many faculty members often encounter similar development experiences regardless of their academic fields. (Read More)
